I like travel videos where people are talking about what’s going on or doing something stupid. Michèle seems to prefer THE SCENERY, mountains, beaches, and icebergs, blah, blah, blah. BORING!
Now to be fair, the video posted here of Michèle snapping at me in such a vicious and emotional manner, was less about her love for THE SCENERY and more about her not wanting to be the focus of another annoying video that starts with me asking her where we are.
Before arriving in Geneva, we had been driving for several hours. I probably spoke for the entire drive. I literally don’t know when to shut up and most of what I say is pointless. Then, upon arriving in Geneva, we drove around aimlessly looking for a place to park. I was no help at all, already sightseeing with my head out the window, shouting, “Look at this! Look at that!” So when we finally parked and arrived down by the lake, Michèle, overwhelmed by the serenity of THE SCENERY, just wanted to unwind. Engaging in more stupid banter with me on video was the last thing on her mind. I’m exhausting and I know it. (Once a guy literally choked me in Montreal because I would not stop talking.)
After sitting for a while at a nearby cafe, enjoying THE SCENERY and afternoon snack, Michèle finally came to her senses and once again took her rightful place as the star in this vignette. The realism that she brings to her performance at the end of this clip is legendary.
As for Geneva, we didn’t do much more than eat, pee and write a few postcards before getting back on route to Italy.
In another post, I’ll tell you about the most “amazing” and “authentic ” cup of hot chocolate I had in Geneva while we took in THE SCENERY! (The words amazing and authentic are in quotes for a reason.)
